About Julie
Nurse, explorer, matriarch… & more!
I began my nursing career as a Labor and Delivery RN in 1992. Almost immediately I began working on my MBA, while continuing to work full time and raise my son. I earned my MBA in 1998 and moved to the Phoenix area the following year to begin working as a charge nurse. Over the next two decades I served in a number of management roles, including an executive role. During this period I also earned my Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree. I have always worked to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle. When I realized I could no longer touch my toes, I returned to yoga, a practice I had enjoyed as a teenager. This began a 15-year journey that culminated in becoming a yoga teacher, as well as a yoga therapist. Eventually I made the decision to leave leadership and focus on helping others to achieve their dreams. I work with clients and coach them to achieve their goals to improve their health and wellness. I’m also passionate about coaching clients that desire to advance their careers.
In my personal life I’m the matriarch of a large, blended family with three grown children, seven granddaughters and two great-grandchildren. I love cattle dogs and enjoy hiking and walking with them. I meditate daily and have been a vegetarian most of my life. Of course I practice yoga several times each week! Prior to becoming a nurse, I worked as an artist creating original pieces of beadwork. I am a perpetual student and am always studying something, or several somethings. Finally I love to travel and have a goal of making it to all the continents, including Antarctica.
